Areas of impact: education, health and wellbeing.

Content specialities used for this project: content design, content strategy and copywriting.

Post-pandemic, Melbourne University’s student wellbeing team were looking at ways to support both national and international students with their mental and physical health.

At the time, the university’s wellbeing hub was a wealth of helpful and supportive nformation, but the hub’s landing page, AKA the front door to student support, was being complicated by confusing navigation and unfocused content.

This project aimed to create the front door to a  ‘single source of truth’  digital experience to helps students find the health and wellbeing support they need at the time they need it.

the brief

the work

The final landing page was designed to be a safe, supportive, and welcoming space for all Melbourne University students, both domestic and international, and for the friends and family supporting them.

We wanted to create a digital front door to the information that would help foster connection between current students and their peers. The importance of designing quick and easy connection points was in. direct response to the loneliness felt by many of the students we spoke to.

These connection points were achieved through clean design, straightforward navigation, and strategically considered content topics and types.

It was also crucial that we consider how to communicate stigma-reducing information about mental health. We did this with clear signposting and suggestions for guides and resources that would walk students through how to practice self-care and, more importantly, where to go if they needed extra information or emergency support.
