Area of impact: Australian youth, digital equity
Content specialities used for this project: journalism — interviewing, storytelling and article ghostwriting.

The Telstra Foundation is Telstra’s philanthropic arm.
As a registered charity, it’s been working towards supporting the digital future of young Australians for almost 20 years. It does this by partnering with expert non-profits and social enterprises and together they work to help young Australians thrive online.
After two decades of philanthropic work, the foundation had a number of amazing stories to tell. It just needed needed support to tell them.
The brief
The work
The first-hand experiences of the young people involved sat at the heart of all finished articles.
This was an intentional storytelling approach to highlight the vital role young Australians bring to conversations around digital products and services.
I spent three months interviewing 18 young people, occasionally alongside their parents and the organisations they co-designed with, to discover why they wanted to be involved in the project and how the work had positively impacted their lives.
